Professor Alan Crockard was the architect of the government's flagship and disasterous MMC programme which has thrown the careers of a whole generation of junior doctors into chaos. Earlier today a letter was sent to the GMC reporting Professor Crockard for alleged serious professional misconduct; now Crockard has resigned.
